It's Monday
Happy Monday, y’all. I know there’s not a lot to be “happy” about right now, but since this whole <gestures broadly> nightmare began, I’ve maintained that finding the JOY in life is an act of resistance. So, in the coming days/weeks/whatever, I’ll be posting personal essays (“Today’s True Story”), comics (“MEMO (the comic strip”) and reviews (I’ll be posting a series of reviews of the 63 Disney Theatrical Animated Features, some of which were originally posted on my personal blog at www.andrewaltenburg.com). If I’ve figured this site out right, you’ll only get each portion that you’ve subscribed to.
This morning, I discovered places where I can post graphics to ‘pretty up’ this Substack, so hang on. Usually I’d wait until all the everything was in place, but I think that’s simply a procrastination tactic (at least to some degree) and, frankly, I have the energy (and the time) so I’m starting now and this will just have to get ‘prettier’ as we go along.
I’m open to any suggestions, of course, please message me or put it in the comments. I’m not new at blogging, but I am new to Substack, so, please be kind. You get back what you put out there in social media and in life.
Anyway, since I’m bending your ear this much, I thought I would mention how much I’ve enjoyed revisiting the bizarre "massacre at Bowling Green” thing from today in 2017. Here, a photo I took here in NYC from the Bowling Green subway stop that day, and posted it with the caption: “we will rebuild”. :)
That’s it for now, more soon!
